江戸末期、上層農民の教養は武士などと遜色なかった、というのが現在の私の感触なのだが、浄土真宗の場合は教義の上からも僧侶を凌ぐ教養の持ち主が一般信徒にいくらでもいた、という感じ。ただ、もちろん地方によって事情は異なり、無教養で凶暴な連中が多かったところも。 blog.goo.ne.jp/daikanjin/e/c1…

三年前は「要は無教養な門徒を暴動に駆り立てるためのアジテーションとして、「耶蘇」という表現が最適だった訳ですね」とか書いてしまったけど、今なら「無教養」などと乱暴な書き方はしないなあ。少し反省。
